A huge reality star and her husband swapped the glitz and glam of fame for the swamp.
Each year, celebs never fail to impress with their outlandish Halloween costumes and as the prepares to celebrate All Hallows Eve, it appears some have already started hosting parties. While presenting legend Jonathan Ross is known for his huge parties, some celebs like to keep things more family orientated.
This celeb ditched her usual blonde hair and opted to rock a purple wig for her outing. Instead of her regular glamorous look, she chose prosthetic facial features and stage make-up to appear decades older than she actually is. But she wasn't the only one who looked completely different as she channelled Shrek's Fairy Godmother.
But did you guess who it was? Of course, it's former star , 33, and her husband Rio. The couple, who are usually known for their stylish looks, transformed into characters from Shrek along with their kids to celebrate the spooky holiday. The former England star, 45, and Kate, went full throttle with their costumes this year as she dazzled in a fairy godmother outfit and he was almost unrecognisable as Lord Farquaad.
Their little ones also joined in on the themed fun. Cree, aged three, was kitted out as Donkey, reins included, whilst the youngest sported a cute Gingerbread onesie. Rio's children from his previous marriage, Tia, 12, and Tate, 15, whose mother Rebecca tragically passed away due to cancer, embraced the Halloween antics. While Tia opted for a Tinkerbell costume breaking from the family theme, Tate donned a Shrek costume.
However, Rio's eldest son Lorenz, 17, wasn't pictured in the festivities; instead, Flo stood in the spotlight dressed as Puss in Boots from the iconic Dreamworks film. Along with the fantastic family photo, Kate playfully captioned it: "What are you doing in my swamp?"
Fans were quick to heap praise on their commitment to Halloween, flooding the comments with positive reactions and compliments on their costume choices. One wrote: "You all look great", another chimed in with: "The best outfits." A third commented: "LOVE!! In the words of Donkey, 'Wow! Let's do that again." One queried to Kate, "How do u still look that buff as an old granny." Someone else mentioned: "Rio suits this look so much", while one agreed: "Rio looks nice with a Bob."
Another fan enthused about Tia's choice: "You all look great. Love Tia's dress, perfect for Tinkerbell". More praise followed with users saying: "This is brilliant! " and "Absolutely brilliant." "Only you could make old look that good. Love you my real life fairy godmother," said another fan. "This make up is insane. Didn't even realise it was you," commented another. Elsewhere, another stunned fan stated: "This is too cool. Looks exactly like that Faceapp filter trending back in 2018."
The Halloween merriment follows Kate's touching homage to her ex-footballer hubby, celebrating five years of marriage. She posted an extravagant throwback photo from their lavish Turkish wedding, with the caption: "5 years today, my best friend is Completely obsessed with us."
The couple exchanged vows at a fairy-tale beachfront ceremony in Marmaris, Turkey, back in 2020, in the presence of their closest friends and family. Reflecting on their nuptials, Rio declared it was 'fate' that brought Kate into his life.
He confided in OK! on their special day: "I definitely wasn't looking for someone at that time. I didn't think it was possible, I wasn't open to bringing someone in to become a step-mum to the kids. Things don't always go the way you imagine. Meeting Kate changed everything and sometimes it's just fate."
"I knew Kate was special from the moment I met her; it was pretty instant, but seeing her with the kids cemented everything; that was a huge part of it for me."
