Jadon Sancho's permanent move to Chelsea has been triggered after a key clause in his contract was met. However, the player will not necessarily remain at Stamford Bridge past the end of this season.
therefore meeting the terms of the deal with Manchester United. football.london understands that Chelsea still have a way out of this if they do not wish to sign Sancho.
Sancho is currently on loan from Old Trafford and will also have to agree a new contract with Chelsea. United are paying some of his large wage demands.
. Although Sancho was not involved in either of the two goals which sealed a massive turnaround for Chelsea, he was more heavily involved than Pedro Neto before he was shifted to the right wing at half time.
Noni Madueke was the man to be replaced by Sancho. The game was his 27th in the Premier League for Chelsea with 18 of those being starts. Sancho has scored three times, assisting four.
Of the other Chelsea wingers, Neto has played 30 times and started 19, scoring one more but tying for assists at this stage. Madueke has been the first choice on the right when fit and has played 27, starting 22. His injury forced Sancho to step up.

Sancho will face added competition if he is to stay at Chelsea past the end of this season. Estevao, in particular, is seen as a world star in the making.
However, he will spend the next 14 months in Portugal before moving in the summer of 2026.
Right-footed wingers remain a key target ahead of the summer transfer window for Chelsea. They are still interested in Athletic Club's Nico Williams as well as Alejandro Garnacho, and Jamie Gittens. All three players were heavily looked at in January.
Mykhailo Mudryk's continued suspension following a positive test for a banned substance in his system has added uncertainty over what is to come. Tyrique George, a Cobham academy graduate, has been promoted to the first team this season and scored his first Premier League goal on Sunday.
"I'm completely focused about nine games, two months to go, I'm completely focused about that," he said at the weekend. "Then what happens in summer, we'll see.
"The Jadon situation doesn't change. In terms of numbers, he could do better, no doubt. It is not just about Jadon but we have more players in the same situation." Maresca has largely been positive about Sancho's involvement, challenging him to shoot more.

"In terms of our wingers, we arrive there [in dangerous positions] many, many times," he explained. "Then it is up to them if they want to cross, go one-on-one, if they want to shoot. Probably, Jadon could shoot much more. That is something we have invited many times."
In December, after his goal at Tottenham, Sancho admitted that he had been told try his luck more often. "It was a one-on-one and I saw the opportunity to cut inside, then I saw the space opened up and just thought 'why not?' " he said.
"It's definitely very satisfying. In training recently I've been working on my shooting a bit more, just working on hitting the far corner, so I'm delighted that it came off. The staff and the players have been telling me to be a bit more selfish in front of goal and shoot when I get in those positions. I've been working on that, so I'm delighted.
"I know I have a lot of people to prove wrong and I'm working hard every day in training. Once I get my opportunity I just try to show what I can do, so I'm happy that I scored and we got the three points for the team. I'm just taking it game-by-game and hopefully I can continue this form."
Sancho then went on a run of failing to have a shot on target in 15 of his next 16 matches in all competitions for Chelsea.
Even if Sancho was to return to Manchester United, it is not expected that he has any long-term future there under Ruben Amorim. The former Borussia Dortmund spoke himself of being happy back in London.
"I'm really delighted that I'm here, playing football at Chelsea," Sancho said in March. "Maresca makes us feel at home. It’s not easy for players to say that. We've grown into one big family."
