Lamine Yamal has already made it clear that he hopes to never leave as and reportedly consider splashing out on the teenager.

The 17-year-old wonderkid has been turning heads for club and country since his breakthrough last year, with some of the world’s top managers now unable to ignore his talent. Yamal won La Liga with Barcelona in his debut 2022/23 season - but it was his incredible performances last term that ended with him lifting Euro 2024 with Spain.

He made headlines when he scored a spectacular left-footed goal from around 25 yards out during the Euro 2024 semi-finals, helping Spain to a 2-1 victory over France and securing their place in the final against England.

Manager Luis de la Fuente demonstrated his faith in the rising star by starting him on the right wing in that game, as Yamal again played a key role in securing his nation’s first European Championship in 12 years.

His scintillating form has shown no signs of slowing down in the current La Liga season, with four goals and six assists in ten games under Hansi Flick's tutelage. Given his abundance of talent, it's hardly surprising that Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly keen on the forward, according to Miguel Delaney of - yet Mikel Arteta and Arne Slot face an uphill battle to secure his services, even in spite of Barcelona's financial issues.

Yamal was very vocal about his commitment to Barcelona recently, citing how he wants to remain with the club for the entirety of his career. Speaking on Spanish television show El Hormiguero, the youngster said: "I hope I never leave Barca," adding: "I hope to be a legend at Barcelona."

He continued: "Being compared to the best in history is incredible. It means you're doing something right. Comparing yourself to him [Lionel Messi] is very difficult. I try to be myself and be remembered as Lamine."

Furthermore, Barcelona have secured Yamal's services through a hefty €1billion release clause, with his current deal running until June 2026. But despite their reluctance to part ways with one of their brightest talents, financial difficulties could force Barcelona's hand.

The Independent claims that the side recently lost a case at the Court of Arbitration (CAS) pertaining to the club's 2022 sale of 25 per cent of their domestic TV rights for 25 years. This was ruled as irrelevant for Financial Fair Play which the club could be in breach of.

Delaney highlighted the situation in his newsletter, writing: "For now, rivals are again eyeing their brilliant youth products such as Gavi, Pedri and - of course - Lamine Yamal. Arsenal and Liverpool would greatly fancy the latter, improbable as it seems right now. They will need to sell. The CAS case illustrated there are no real creative options left."
