Liam Payne's heartbroken friend shares never-before-seen videos of late One Direction star

A friend of Liam Payne has shared unseen footage of the star joking around and making music - bringing joy to devastated fans who are struggling to process his death.

Musician Sam Pounds has been sharing clips of in the wake of his last week. Liam fell to his death from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Wednesday 16 October leaving behind his young son Bear, aged seven, who he shares with ex-girlfriend 41.

Fans have been heartened to watch clips of Liam singing in a recording studio in footage shared by Sam. Video clips show the star pointing at the camera, cracking jokes with comedic accents, and relaxing with his friends.

Sam shared the footage via his Instagram grid alongside a heartbreaking tribute which stated: "I can’t believe I’m writing this post. I can’t believe you are gone in this way. This is how I’ll always remember brother………..The happy, funny, and talented brother, father, and friend. Praying for my sweet kind sister @roo0990 we love you. @conorleebutler my guy praying for you as well. We made some awesome and beautiful music together that will live on forever. Love you @liampayne bro! RIP."

Fans have praised Sam for sharing the footage and giving them access to clips of the star looking at ease and relaxed. One wrote in the comments: "Thank you for sharing these vids and pics showing the world the most beautiful funny talented and kind person Liam was. This made me laugh for the first time since the news dropped."

Another typed: "That broke my heart! sending prayers to you, his family and the rest of his friends at this time." And a further fan wrote: "Such a beautiful soul. What a blessing to have captured those precious moments Sam. Love you bro!"

Later, Sam shared further footage of him and Liam listening to a track they had made together. He revealed that the One Direction star had planned to record the unreleased track, which is titled Do No Wrong, with Sam and American rap star Chris Brown.

Fans were also thrilled to see the footage, with one writing: "My heart breaks over and over again, I wished the album would come out, he was the best and always will be." And another wrote: "I was so excited for this song when Ruth shared the snippet and I'm so glad you're letting us hear more of it now. It would be great if it was on Spotify or something. It sounds AMAZING."

Liam had been open about his struggles with sobriety and his mental health battles before his shock death. A petition to encourage the passing of a law which will introduce safeguards for those in the entertainment industry has been launched by fans following Liam's death - and has attracted over 100,000 signatures meaning it should be debated by politicians in Parliament.
