Man Utd's plan for Ruben Amorim's official unveiling revealed after start date delay

Ruben Amorim won't officially face the media as manager until a couple of days before his first match next week.

The Portuguese boss with his time as Sporting Lisbon manager officially coming to an end. Amorim has arrived at Old Trafford with domestic football coming to a pause as the international scene takes centre stage for the next week or so.

It is normal procedure for managers to hold a press conference in the days after they arrive, but Amorim won't face the press until he conducts his usual pre-match duties in the lead up to his first game against Ipswich on November 24.

The 39-year-old is set to do in-house interviews with the club's MUTV channel, but they will be his only media duties. United are keen to give Amorim time to settle in the UK during the international break, reports the .

The Portuguese boss has seen a number of his players depart on international duty, but won't be able to take training on Monday for those that remain in Manchester. He is yet to acquire his work permit, but United insist there are no complications.

Amorim bowed out of his time at Sporting with an impressive 4-2 victory over Braga. The result means that the Portuguese champions still have a perfect record after 11 games. They hailed trailed 2-0 before a stunning second-half comeback that saw them score twice in the final minutes.

By the time Amorim faces the media he is likely to be quizzed on Ruud van Nistelrooy - who will have been told whether or not he has a future in Manchester. The new manager is keen to bring five of his back-room staff to Old Trafford from Sporting, which has cast doubt over the Dutchman's future.

Van Nistelrooy has been in caretaker charge of the team since Erik ten Hag was sacked, winning three of his four games. The club's ex-player has formed a swift bond with the fanbase and Amorim is poised to speak with him early in his tenure to inform the Dutchman of whether he will feature in his staff.

He said: "The communication was after the block of four, there will be communication towards you and your colleagues. The most important thing is the football club. I am here to support that, and I want to continue that."
