has revealed the secret sign he gives Dianne Buswell every week on .
The pair are progressing well in the competition and are a shoo-in for the final, with the judges particularly impressed with how the show's first blind contestant is dancing.
Opening up about how emotional he gets every week, waiting to find out if he's made it through to the next round of the competition, Chris, 47, said he hugs his Aussie dance partner, 35, tightly "so I can make sure I'm not going to cry on telly".
Updating fans this week in their video diary, Dianne said: "We need to talk about the emotional side of this, we do." "You know what I'm like today Di," Chris replied.

Dianne continued: "So Chris feels very emotional today. One thing he does every time is he hugs me so tight at the end because... you tell them."
"I hug you so tight at the end so I can make sure I'm not going to cry on telly," Chris confirmed, adding: "The relief of getting through it, then for you to be so ecstatic at the end and then the audience reaction, it's a lot, we have little lip wobbles."
Thanking viewers for voting for him, the CBeebies star concluded that the couple were still in the competition "because of the generosity of the people out there that picked up their phones."
It comes after Chris hit back at Sir Alan Sugar's criticism of the show with a withering comeback. Tweeting during Sunday night's results show, The Apprentice star was clearly miffed with the series and what he deemed were its "gimmicks".
Taking to X, he vented: "I don't know when Strictly come dancing are going to run out of contestant gimmicks. I would not be surprised if they had a mechanical robot next year. @bbcstrictly."
Chris wasted no time in responding and replied: "I am sorry my gimmick offends you oh mighty Lord," adding a play on Sugar's famous Apprentice catchphrase: '#YoureTired."
Fans were fuming over Sugar's diss, with many taking to social media in support of Chris. One posted: "Answered perfectly Chris. If your comments are aimed at individuals with disabilities you should be ashamed of yourself @Lord_Sugar," followed by an angry face emoji.
A second quipped: "He’s only jealous cause with 20/20 Vision he couldn’t pull of half of the moves you have or win the respect of the public for doing something so amazing. Don’t wast your typing energy Chris, just keep dancing you legend."
While another said: "Good for you Chris. I love seeing Strictly show that ANYONE can learn to dance and enjoy dancing, no matter your size, sexuality, disability, etc. Looking forward to you and Dianne's dance next week."
