WhatsApp is preparing to introduce a new feature to protect its users from cyberattacks. This feature will apply all privacy and security settings with a single tap.
WhatsApp is introducing a new setting to protect its users from cyberattacks. This will lock several features of the app, preventing cybercriminals from accessing user information. This feature has been spotted in the beta version for Android. With this new feature, the number of messages from unknown numbers will also be limited, helping people avoid unwanted and spam messages.
Strict Account Settings Mode Coming to WhatsApp
This new feature is called Strict Account Settings Mode. The company is currently working on this feature, and it may take some time to roll out to users. With this feature, all the security settings of the app can be applied with a single toggle. This eliminates the need for users to set different privacy options and settings. Activating this mode will protect the user's IP address, preventing anyone from tracking the user based on location data.
Files from unknown people will not be downloaded.
After activating this feature, files, photos, and videos from unknown numbers will be blocked, preventing the risk of malware being installed on the device. Users will only receive text messages from unknown numbers. The company is also considering disabling link previews.
Calls from unknown numbers will be muted.
The new feature will also include an option to mute calls from unknown numbers to protect users from spam, scams, and zero-click attacks. Furthermore, information such as users' photos, status, and last seen will not be visible to anyone other than their contacts. In this way, all privacy and security settings can be activated with a single toggle.
