SBI Cards has announced changes to its fee structure and other charges, effective November 1, 2025. The new charges will apply to select transactions, such as education-related payments and wallet loads, according to SBI Cards.

Which payments will be subject to the new charges?
SBI Cards stated that education payments made through credit cards, checks, and third-party apps like MobiKwik will now be charged 1% of the transaction amount. However, SBI Card clarified that this fee will not apply to payments made directly to schools, colleges, or universities through its official website or on-site POS machines.
Wallet load transactions will also be charged.
According to SBI Card, every wallet load transaction above Rs. 1,000 will be charged a fee of 1% of the transaction amount. This fee will apply to transactions made under select merchant codes. SBI Card said in a statement that the fee on education payments will apply to third-party merchants identified under Merchant Category Codes (MCC) 8211, 8220, 8241, 8244, 8249, and 8299.

SBI Card charges a cash payment fee of Rs. 250.
If your payment fails, SBI Card charges a dishonor fee of 2% of the payment amount, up to a minimum of Rs. 500.
SBI Card charges a check payment fee of Rs. 200.
The cash advance fee at SBI ATMs and other domestic ATMs is 2.5% of the transaction amount, subject to a minimum of Rs. 500. At international ATMs, this fee is 2.5% of the transaction amount, with a minimum of ₹500.
Card replacement fees range from ₹100 to ₹250, while for Aurum cards, this fee is ₹1,500.
In case of an emergency card replacement abroad, the actual cost will be charged, with a minimum of $175 for Visa and $148 for Mastercard.
How much late payment fee does SBI Card charge if the Minimum Amount Due (MAD) is not paid by the payment due date:
₹0 - ₹500: Zero
₹500 - ₹1,000: ₹400
₹1,000 - ₹10,000: ₹750
₹10,000 - ₹25,000: ₹950
₹25,000 - ₹50,000: ₹1,100 Rs.
> Rs. 50,000: Rs. 1,300
Additional Late Payment Charge
If the Minimum Amount Due (MAD) is not paid by the due date for two consecutive billing cycles, an additional fee of Rs. 100 will be levied. This fee will apply every payment cycle until the MAD is paid.
