Mahindra Thar Roxx deliveries begin: Check price, features, engine options and more

Mahindra & Mahindra recently launched the new Mahindra Thar Roxx in the Indian market. The new Roxx is essentially a five-door version of the Mahindra Thar and features a new design, improved dynamics, new interior layout with features, added safety and much more. The Roxx is available in six variants - MX1, MX3, MX5, AX3L, AX5L and AX7L with prices starting from Rs 12.99 lakh for the MX1 base petrol MT, going up to Rs 20.49 lakh for the AX7L diesel MT, ex-showroom introductory.


Talking about the prices of 4x4 variants , the entry-level MX3 4x4 MT is priced at Rs 18.79 lakh, the mid-spec AX5 L 4x4 AT is priced at Rs 20.99 lakh and the top-of-the-line AX7 L 4x4 MT is priced at 20.99 lakh whereas the AT variant is priced at Re 22.49 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom). The Roxx 4x4 variant commands about Rs 1.8 lakh to 2 lakh higher than the equivalent 4x2 variants.

The bookings for the SUV began on October 03, 2024, and the SUV received over 1.76 lakh bookings within 60 minutes. And now, the deliveries of the new Roxx have begun across the country. Interested customers can book the SUV online or by visiting their nearest dealership, booking amount is set at Rs 21,000. If you are planning to buy one, here are a few things you should know.


The Thar Roxx will be offered with two engine options - MStallion 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine which puts out 177 PS of power, and 380 Nm torque in automatic variants, the manual variants put out 162 PS power and 330 nm torque. Talking about the diesel, the 2.2-litre MHawk turbo diesel puts out 175 PS of power and 370 nm torque in 4x4 variants and 152 PS of power, and 330 nm torque in RWD variants. Both engines get a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission option.

In terms of features, the Roxx gets a panoramic sunroof, 19-inch alloy wheels, leather-wrapped door trims, 6-way powered driver seat, front ventilated seats, cooled glove box, 360-degree camera, blind spot monitor, obstacle view, 9-speaker Harman/Kardon speakers with subwoofer, power foldable ORVM, 65 Watt USB C ports, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, fully digital cluster, Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto, wireless charger, an acoustic windshield, leather-wrapped steering wheel, auto headlights with wipers, footwell lighting, ambient lighting and much more.

In terms of safety, it gets auto-dimming iRVM, all four disc brakes, hill ascent and descent assist, traction control, six airbags, ESC, three-point seat belts for all passengers, Level 2 ADAS with 10 features, 360-degree camera, blind spot monitor, obstacle view and more.
