Economic offences emerge as a growing concern in India’s metropolitan cities, with the latest National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) showing a 30.9% jump to 41,220 cases in 2023 from 31,501 in 2018. Most offences involved losses between `1-10 lakh, though frauds worth crores were not uncommon.
