New Delhi: Tamil Nadu chief Minister and DMK chief MK Stalin on Wednesday exhorted the people of Bihar to fight and defeat what he called BJP’s attempt to snatch away votes through special intensive revision of electoral rolls in the state.

Addressing the Opposition yatra in Muzaffarpur, Stalin said that the people of Bihar had fought back whenever democracy faced challenges and that the Opposition fight led by Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav would win this time as well.

“I have travelled nearly 2,000 kilometres to stand in solidarity with the people of Bihar. Even those with valid identity cards are being struck off as if they do not exist. What can bemore dangerous than this? Is the deletion of names of 65 lakh people (from the draft electoral rolls) not worse than terrorism?” Stalin said in Tamil, addressing ‘ Voter Adhikar Yatra’ along with Gandhi and Yadav.

“The friendship between Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav is not just a political relationship, it is a relationship between two brothers. This friendship is going to make them victorious. We have united to protect democracy,” he said.

He said “Election Commission has become a remotecontrolled puppet” and that after Gandhi alleged more than a lakh fake voters in a Karnataka constituency, ECI didn’t do anything to credibly respond. Stalin hailed RJD patron Lalu Prasad as the one who emerged among the topmost leaders by courageously facing all opposition and targeting while upholding the principles of secularism and social justice.
