NEW DELHI: As part of its decarbonisation strategy for Lakshadweep, the Central Electricity Authority is formulating an integrated energy road map that incorporates both short-term and long-term planning including various generation scenarios like inter-island grid interconnections, potential linkage to the mainland transmission network, and deployment of renewable energy sources such as solar and wind, along with battery energy storage systems (BESS), people close the development said.
The CEA is likely to outline a short-term and long-term energy mix report for the archipelago, they said.
The ongoing plan gains prominence as the union territory works on promoting tourism in the islands.
