Actor Mukul Dev, known for his powerful performances across Hindi, Punjabi, and South Indian cinema and television, has passed away at the age of 54. According to a report by IANS, the seasoned performer had been battling an illness and was recently moved to the Intensive Care Unit. The exact cause behind his sudden demise has not yet been made public.
Actress Deepshikha Nagpal, a dear friend of Mukul, confirmed the heartbreaking news on her Instagram. She shared a nostalgic throwback photo with a simple yet poignant caption, "RIP." Speaking to India Today, Deepshikha recalled that Mukul was extremely private about his health and never discussed it with anyone—even in their WhatsApp group of close friends where they often exchanged messages. Holding back tears, she added, “I woke up to this news and kept calling his phone, hoping he'd answer. It feels surreal.”
Actor Vindu Dara Singh, who co-starred with Mukul in Son of Sardaar, also confirmed the tragic news. He mourned that Mukul would never get the chance to watch himself light up the big screen again.
