The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has lifted its ban on actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh after which he has been allowed to shoot for Border 2. Reportedly, the film body claimed that the patriotic film's producer, Bhushan Kumar, pleaded them personally to let Diljit work.
It all began after Diljit promoted his Punjabi film with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, Sardaar Ji 3, amid India-Pakistan tensions. FWICE had lashed out Diljit for collaborating with Hania despite a renewed ban on Pakistani celebs in India following the Pahalgam terror attack.

Now, according to a report in India Today, the association's President, BN Tiwari, revealed that the decision was made after Bhushan personally reached out and made an appeal.
Veteran filmmaker Ashoke Pandit, who is associated with FWICE, said the decision to lift the ban has come with a warning. "We have non-cooperation against Diljit continuing. Anyone else who casts him must be prepared for consequences. The Federation won't be responsible for the financial losses that might follow."
He clarified that non-cooperation against Diljit will continue for future projects.
Bhushan promises to never work with Diljit
Ashoke Pandit told the news portal, "Bhushan ji and his team were quite keen on taking a decision which is pro-country, but he also explained to us that the film is nearly 80-85 per cent complete. Most of the work with Diljit is over. So, he requested the federation to allow him to complete this film, and in the future, he will never cast him. That was the request he made, and he will be issuing a letter to us on the same."
Diljit shuts down rumours of being removed from Border 2
Putting the rumour mills to rest, the Lover singer shared a behind-the-scenes video from the sets of Border 2 on July 2, where he can be seen dressed in uniform, wearing a navy blue turban. He added the iconic track Sandese Aate Hain from the original Border in the background.
Sharing the video on his Instagram handle, Diljit simply captioned it, "BORDER 2."
