Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh clinched two medals including 1silver in athletics and 1 bronze in Kalaripayattu on Tuesday at Khelo India Youth Games 2025.
In athletics, Avdesh bagged the silver medal in the 1500 m run event of the boys youth under 18 category by taking a time of 3:56.78 seconds. In Kalaripayattu, Priyanshi Jamliya and Samridhi Patel secured the bronze medal in the Sword and Shield and Flexible Sword Team events.
In the 65 kg freestyle event of wrestling, Nishit Jaiswal from MP defeated Rohit from Haryana and entered the final match.
Similarly, in the 65 kg boxing game, Jasrit from MP defeated a Haryana player and entered the final match.
Both the final matches will be played on Wednesday (May 14). Matches of athletics, boxing, fencing, weightlifting, yogasana, wrestling, thang-ta, basketball and hockey will be held on the same day.
The competition is being held in major cities of Bihar as well as in New Delhi from May 4 to 15. MP won a total of 26 medals including 9 gold, 6 silver and 11 bronze so far and is at the seventh position in the medal tally.
