Taking serious note of the tragic bridge accident at Kundmala on the Indrayani River in Maval taluka of Pune district, the Maharashtra State Government has appointed a three-member committee to investigate the incident. Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Shivrendra Singhraje Bhosale informed the Legislative Assembly that strict action will be taken against those found responsible after the committee submits its report.
The matter was raised through a Calling Attention motion by MLA Amol Khatal, with MLA Vikram Pachpute also participating in the discussion.
Minister Bhosale stated that the bridge at Kundmala had already been declared unsafe, and warning signs had been posted instructing people not to use it. However, due to a large gathering of tourists on the bridge, the unfortunate incident occurred, resulting in the death of four individuals.
