Ben Stokes and Joe Root watchful after England lose four wickets in the first session
Similar to the first innings, Ben Stokes and Joe Root have watchfully added 50 runs between them to dig their side out of trouble. Before Nitish Kumar Reddy got rid of the right-handed Zak Crawley, Mohammed Siraj dismissed Ollie Pope and Ben Duckett cheaply. A few overs before lunch saw Akash Deep send Harry Brook packing by flattening his middle stump.
The final over of day three saw a heated conversation transpire between Crawley and Shubman Gill as the latter accused the Kent batter of wasting time.
England eventually walked away with a two-run lead and lead by 98 runs at lunch on day four. Joe Root, who top-scored with 104, is still at the crease, batting with Ben Stokes as England look to settle a target which is out of crease for India.
