Pune: Traffic Diversions Announced In Camp, Vishrantwadi For Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti On April 14 — Details Inside

The Pune City Traffic Police have announced road closures and traffic diversions for Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti on Monday (April 14).

The three main gatherings will be at areas around the Pune district collectorate, Vishrantwadi and the Aurora Towers Chowk area in Pune Camp.

The traffic restrictions will be in place from 7pm on April 13 till 2am on April 14.

The traffic changes are as follows:

Around the Pune district collectorate:

Traffic from Shahir Amar Shaikh Chowk to Maldhakka Chowk will be diverted via RTO Chowk and Jehangir Chowk.

Traffic from RTO Chowk to Maldhakka Chowk will be diverted via Jehangir Chowk and Shahir Amar Shaikh Chowk.

Traffic from GPO Chowk to Bolhai Chowk will be diverted via Kirad Chowk and Nehru Memorial Chowk.

Traffic from Pune Station to Maldhakka Chowk will be diverted via Alankar Chowk.

Traffic from Narpatgiri Chowk to Maldhakka Chowk will be diverted via Kamla Nehru Hospital and Kumbharwes Chowk.

Traffic from Banerjee Chowk to Shahir Amar Shaikh Chowk will be diverted via 15 August Chowk and Pavale Chowk.

Those who want to go to Sassoon General Hospital will get entry from the gate near the dead house.

Parking of vehicles on Maldhakka Chowk-Bolhai Chowk-Pune station, Bolhai Chowk-Sadhu Vaswani Chowk, Bolhai Chowk-GPO chowk, Bolhai Chowk-Narpatgiri Chowk and Bolhai Chowk-Banerjee Chowk are banned.

People can park their vehicles at SSPMS Ground (two-wheelers and four-wheelers), Tukaram Shinde parking (two-wheelers and four-wheelers) or Sassoon Colony (only two-wheelers).

Aurora Towers Chowk area in Pune Camp:

Traffic from Koyaji Road to Pune station will be diverted via SBI House Chowk.

Traffic from ISKON Temple to Dr Ambedkar Statue next to Aurora Towers will be closed.

Traffic from Nehru Chowk to Tin Tofa Chowk will be diverted via Kirad Chowk, taking a left from Nehru Chowk.

No parking has been announced on Dorabji Chowk-Arora Tower-Tin Tofa Chowk, Arora Tower to Naz Chowk and Tarapor Road junction.

People can park their vehicles at various pay-and-park facilities on Tarapor Road, Eat Street, etc.

Traffic changes for the Vishrantwadi area:

Vehicles from the city area to Pune airport and Tingre Nagar area will be diverted via the Commerce Zone area or via Yerawada prison and post office.

Traffic from Pune city to Bopkhel, Dighi, Bhosari and Alandi will be diverted via Shantinagar Chowk and Kalas Phata. Rickshaws, four-wheelers and heavy vehicles will not be permitted beyond Metal Corner.

Traffic from Kalas, Bopkhel, Dighi and Alandi to Pune city will be diverted via Kalas Phata and Tank Road in Khadki.

Traffic from Dhanori to Pune will be diverted via Anand Mangal Karyalay Road and 509 Chowk.

The traffic from Pune Airport to Khadki and Bhosari will be diverted via Siddheshwar Chowk and Alandi Road.
