Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Two persons robbed jewellery and cash from the almirah on pretext of repairing lock in a house in the Jagdamba colony of the city.
Seema Pal resident of Jagdamba Colony lodged a complaint with Kotwali police station stating that she was at her house when she spotted two key makers in the locality.
The complainant told the police that since locks of two almirahs were faulty, she stopped the two men and asked them to repair them.
The two persons first repaired the lock of the almirah in her room and then went to repair the lock of the almirah in her mother-in-law’s room. The two men said they would have to make a key for the lock and promised to come back after an hour.
While leaving the house, they told the complainant not to try any key to open the almirah.
When the duo did not return with the key, family members grew suspicious and tried to open the almirah, but it was stuck. They somehow opened it with help of a neighbour only to find Rs 15,000 in cash and jewellery missing.
A case of theft was registered by police, and investigation has been started.
