Kanpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Kanpur on Friday to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of 15 major projects worth over ₹47,573 crore. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is expected to attend the event.
Among the key inaugurations is the new underground section of the Kanpur Metro from Chunniganj to Kanpur Central, adding five underground stations. This connects major city locations like Z Square Mall, Green Park Stadium, and Somdutt Plaza.
In energy, the Prime Minister will inaugurate three 660 MW units at Ghatampur and a thermal power project at Panki. Two railway bridges from Panki Power Plant to Kalyanpur will also be inaugurated to support coal and fuel transport.
A 40 MLD sewage treatment plant in Bingawan and a new fire station in Bithoor will be dedicated. Other inaugurations include two 132 kV substations in Greater Noida and thermal units in Jawaharpur, Obra-C, and Khurja.
Foundation stones will be laid for projects worth over ₹441 crore including road upgrades and a 220 kV substation in Gautam Buddh Nagar.
