The fifth edition of Raga–Rasa, an exclusive and intimate evening featuring Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Lars Møller from Denmark, will be held on October 20 at the 350-year-old Silva Heritage Mansion in Benaulim, South Goa.
The event, which is limited to 40 participants, promises a unique blend of Indian ragas and meditation, focusing on the emotional and spiritual aspects of music.
Those in attendance will be able to immerse themselves in musical as Lars performs a variety of ragas, explaining their structures and the emotions (rasas) they evoke and gain insights into the traditional Indian music’s meditative qualities and how it can enhance well-being.
The legendary Lars Møller is a celebrated with over 35 years of international performance experience.
He integrates influences with a deep understanding of North Indian music, having studied under renowned masters. His extensive discography includes collaborations with esteemed Indian artists.
Lars Møller has released over 40 albums and has received numerous awards for his work. His notable collaborations with Indian include performances with renowned violinist Kala Ramnath during the official royal Danish visit to India in 2023, as well as contributions to his orchestral album Glow of Benares.
Raga meditation combines music and , influencing emotions and enhancing well-being. It draws on specific ragas to evoke desired emotional states, rooted in ancient Indian traditions. This practice recognises the healing power of music, promoting harmony within the , mind, and spirit.
The experience is open to all ages, and no prior knowledge of Indian classical music is required.
