You must have received an offer to get a mobile tower installed on your vacant land at some point in time. If not, then it is possible that in a few days your phone rings and you get this offer. You will be told to get a mobile tower installed on the roof of your house, in the field, or on empty land (Mobile Tower Installation Fraud). By doing this, you will get rent every month and many other benefits will also be available.
In such a situation, many people get greedy and start working as per their instructions and share the necessary documents. Some people even transfer money in the name of registration fees. Whereas doing this only causes loss to themselves. Nowadays, this method is being used extensively to extort money from people. If you do not want to get yourself harmed by getting trapped in this fraud, then some things must be kept in mind.
You did not get the offer to install a tower.
In the last few days, many cases of fraud have come to light in the name of installing mobile towers. In these, calls come from unknown numbers and an offer is given to install a mobile tower in an empty place. Many tempting benefits are told. If someone agrees to this somehow, then the real game of cheating begins from here.
It is very important to be cautious.
The caller first takes information about your land. After this, personal details are asked and once you share this with them, then you are asked for the registration fee. It is said that once you pay the registration fee, your file will be forwarded and your land will be surveyed. Whereas in reality, nothing like this happens. Rather, this is just a way to cheat people.
Never trust a call in the name of tower installation.
Do not share the details of your place and personal information even by mistake.
If you get such a call in the name of getting a tower installed, then file a complaint with the police.
Do not trust any kind of NOC, because to convince you, fraudsters also give fake NOCs. Whereas in reality, nothing like this happens to get a tower installed.
Block calls coming in the name of TRAI or Telecom Department.
What does TRAI say?
TRAI is very strict about the fraud happening in the name of installing mobile towers. TRAI does not play any role in installing towers anywhere nor does it make such calls. The second important thing is that TRAI does not give any kind of NOC for installing towers. TRAI has mentioned all the rules related to installing towers on its website.
