The fate of 17,000 students hangs in the balance as the UP Board’s Class 10 and 12 results face unexpected delays. The culprit? Negligence by 420 schools across 62 districts in Uttar Pradesh, which failed to upload crucial internal assessment and practical marks to the board’s official portal.
Result Preparation Halted After Major LapseThe UP Board exams concluded between 24 February and 12 March, with evaluation completed by 2 April. But just as the results were being finalized, a massive oversight came to light. Schools hadn't submitted marks for subjects like Moral Education, Yoga, Sports, and Physical Education — leading to incomplete records for thousands of students.
Board’s Final Ultimatum: Upload Marks by April 7 or Face ActionBoard Secretary Bhagwati Prasad Singh has issued a last warning to the principals of the defaulting schools. If they fail to upload all marks by 4 PM on April 7, the responsibility for students’ incomplete results or failures will fall squarely on them.
Additionally, the board has empowered District School Inspectors (DIOS) to act immediately and ensure compliance — or face accountability themselves.
Student Futures at RiskWith college admissions and competitive exam deadlines approaching, thousands of students now face uncertainty. The delay in result declaration has triggered stress and anxiety among both students and their parents.
Public Outcry and Demand for AccountabilityParents and students are demanding strict action against the schools responsible for the lapse. Many are calling for a transparent, digital-first monitoring system to ensure this doesn’t happen again.
They ask:
“Why should students suffer because of someone else’s negligence?”
