For online booking, you can easily book travel tickets and permits for darshan through the official website of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (www.maavaishnodevi.org). You can choose a general travel permit or a special category ticket for darshan. During Navratri, the number of devotees is high, so it would be advisable to book ahead of time.
Offline booking
If you have not been able to book tickets online, then on reaching Katra, you can get a travel permit from the Yatra Parchi counter. For this, you have to go to the Shrine Board counter located near the main bus stand or railway station of Katra. Here you will be issued a Yatra Parchi (Travel Permit), which is mandatory for the darshan of Mata.
Helicopter service booking
During the Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra, many devotees also use helicopter service, especially those who are physically unable to travel or want to have darshan quickly. Helicopter booking can also be done online-

You can avail helicopter facility from Katra to Sanjhi Chhat, from where you have to do a little trek to reach the temple.

During Navratri, the facility of live darshan is also available on the Shrine Board website, so that devotees who cannot go on the yatra can have darshan of Mata online.
Food and accommodation arrangements
The Shrine Board also provides food and accommodation facilities for the devotees. You can stay in the guest house or dharamshalas of the Shrine Board during the yatra, which can also be booked online. Apart from this, there are many hotels and homestays in Katra, where you can easily get a room for Rs 500.
