Liverpool's Alexis Mac Allister has generously gifted his Reds No. 10 shirt - but not to Florian Wirtz.

Germany international Wirtz continues to be strongly linked with a club record breaking move to the Reds this summer, with all parties hopeful the move can be signed off in the coming days.

Both Mac Allister and Wirtz currently don the No. 10 for their respective teams, sparking rumours that Wirtz might fancy the same number at should he make the switch to Anfield.

An irritated Wirtz took to on Tuesday to address the chatter, subtly suggesting a transfer might be in the pipeline while also dismissing claims about his shirt number preference:

"Who says I want the 10, I respect players," Wirtz posted. "Don't believe everything what's written [clown emoji]."

Shortly afterwards, professional Argentine Padel player Alex Chozas expressed his gratitude to Mac Allister for receiving a signed Liverpool shirt from him, Posting on Instagram, he wrote: "Thank you [Mac Allister] for this unforgettable afternoon. You now have a Padel to play with, I hope you like it!

"Thanks for your Liverpool shirt, you're a star on and off the pitch, my friend. Get well soon, CHAMPION."

With their shirts held up high for the camera, Mac Allister and Chozas shared a snapshot on social media, showcasing their mutual appreciation. The Liverpool midfielder chimed in with encouragement for his mate: "Great, crazy! Keep up the good work," penned Mac Allister.

After playing a key role in Liverpool’s triumphant campaign, Mac Allister is now soaking up the summer sun.

He is currently absent from the Argentina squad as he recuperates from an injury that prevented him from starting any of the four matches Liverpool played after they secured the Premier League title, missing the last two entirely.
