A quick-thinking dad zoomed into an car park to after the mother's miles away from any hospital. Dad Michael Bremner was at work two hours away in Fraserburgh, , when his wife, Dinara, called to say her waters had broken.
By the time he arrived home, Dinara's were already intensifying, so the couple quickly set off for the maternity in Aberdeen, leaving their eldest daughter Beth with her nan. It then dawned on them that they wouldn't make it to the hospital on time. Michael phoned the for guidance, and was told to pull over somewhere safe and call 999. The dad said: "I saw the bright lights of the car park and thought it would be perfect spot as the ambulance would find its way to it quite easily."
The call handler talked him through what to do, and moments later, little William made his dramatic entrance into the at the supermarket in Huntly, Aberdeenshire. Dinara managed to give birth to the 9lb 2oz tot whilst laying in the reclined front passenger seat. Michael said: "It was a wee bit scary, but it was okay. The guy on the phoned told us what to do; he was great."

The couple wrapped William in a jumper and kept the engine running to keep him warm while waiting for the ambulance, which arrived within five minutes. Dinara and William were then taken to the hospital, with Michael following behind. Michael added: "William went three days in hospital without a name. We did consider George because of the Asda connection but we went with William in the end!"
The youngster has now met the staff at the supermarket - and the Asda Huntly team couldn’t wait to meet him. Store manager Linda found out about William's unexpected arrival, gifted them a bouquet of flowers at their home and invited the family to come into the store so they could pick up a hamper full of baby goodies.
Linda Morrison, the General Store Manager of Asda in Huntly said: "We just wanted to do something a bit special - it's not every day that a baby's born in your car park. William was just beautiful, and he was giving me smiles. I was delighted to meet them."
