BBC Race Across the World's Sioned makes relationship admission after 'tough' moment

Race Across the World star Sioned Cray has revealed a relationship update with Fin Gough following a "tough" moment during the programme.

The Welsh couple featured in the fifth series of the popular BBC show earlier this year, which saw five pairs attempting to reach India's southernmost point after beginning at the Great Wall of China.

The contestants, stripped of smartphones and bank cards, depended entirely on the modest budget given to them in order to claim an eye-watering £20,000 prize fund.

Following an exciting series, mother and son team Caroline and Tom secured the jackpot after becoming the first pair to arrive at the final destination in Kanniyakumari.

Sisters Elizabeth and Letitia finished just 19 minutes behind the champions, with Fin and Sioned in third, followed by brothers Brian and Melvyn, reports Plymouth Live.

Speaking on the red carpet at the National Television Awards last week (September 10), Sioned revealed how her experience on the programme brought her and Fin closer together.

"We're definitely closer after it," she confirmed, with Fin adding: "You don't have a phone, you're with each other 24/7. There's no break. If you're on a bus, you're side by side for 12/13 hours, so you kind of grow closer together."

Sioned then revealed: "We've not really been apart a lot since."

The star then looked back on her most challenging moment from the series, which happened as the couple entered India for the first time.

Sioned visibly became upset on the show as she witnessed young children living in poverty on the streets of Varanasi.

"I think it was very evident on camera that [my hardest moment] was entering India. It was really tough for me, just mad on the senses. But Fin helped me through that," the star confessed.

Despite the hurdles they faced, the pair then admitted that they "would love" to return to the show if given the opportunity.

Sioned chimed in: "At the time, if you had asked me that, I would have said no but now that I've been back and settled down, I'd love to go on again."

Months after the show's conclusion, the stars continue to make an effort to meet up regularly throughout the year, with Fin concluding: "We're one big family."
