An urgent hunt for a gunman has been launched after a woman was shot at her home and left seriously injured.
She was rushed to hospital after the horror early morning attack on Priory Road in Dudley, West Midlands, today. Two shots were fired with one hitting the woman - who remains in hospital with serious injuries following the shocking shooting. Police have since appealed to the public for any information as a search for the missing gunman continues. A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "An investigation has been launched after a woman was shot at an address in Dudley.

"We were called to reports of a firearms discharge at an address in Priory Road, Dudley, just after midnight today. Two shots were fired at an address, and a woman was hit by one of the shots. She was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where she remains."

The road has been closed off and police will remain in the area following the attack. A manhunt has since been launched to find the shooter, who quickly fled the scene.
Police have appealed to the public for any information. The spokesperson said: "Anyone who witnessed the incident, or may have dash cam or doorbell footage, is asked to get in touch with us via 101, quoting log 66 of 3 July.
"We understand the concern in the community this incident will raise. Officers will remain in the area and be carrying out reassurance patrols.
"Our investigators are carrying out enquiries to identify who’s involved. The road remains closed this morning." Police added that people can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a shooting at an address on Priory Road in Dudley at 12.16am this morning and sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer, and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car from Cosford to the scene.
"On arrival crews found a woman who they treated for serious injuries, before conveying her under emergency driving conditions to hospital."
