Emmerdale John Sugden's next victim 'sealed' - and it's not who you think

Jacob Gallagher in could face a grim fate according to a new theory, with fans convinced will target him.

The character suffers a terrifying health incident this week, when he has an allergic reaction after sipping the wrong coffee. John races over to save the day as Jacob's life hangs in the balance at the surgery.

With his fate not confirmed, some fans are wondering if there's more to the storyline. Viewers are convinced John is a serial killer, and has been targeting villagers. With Chas Dingle recently overdosing on painkillers, it was Ella Forster who was accused of the crime.

John was there to rescue her when she collapsed, and he's been labelled a hero. He's currently rowing with his boss Liam Cavanagh after mistakes at work, with him misdiagnosing Kerry Wyatt leading to a review.

Viewers are wondering if he might target Liam as revenge, amid the theory he's a serial killer who murdered Nate Robinson. There's also speculation he is the real killer of Anthony Fox.

Ahead of the truth about John being revealed, fans are suspecting who might be next if John really is a killer. But Chas and Liam might not need to worry about being on his hit list.

It's someone else John could be after according to fans, with it not clear what happens just yet. Spoilers confirmed that Jacob would take a sip of the wrong coffee at the surgery.

The character has a severe nut allergy, and after sipping the coffee he goes into anaphylactic shock. To make matters worse his AAI pen is missing, and he soon falls unconscious.

John races over to him and tries to save him, checking for a pulse while we don't know what happens next. But a scene during Wednesday night's episode, that became available to watch on ITVX on Wednesday morning, may have teased a twist.

John's sister Victoria made a comment in the episode about her own work mistakes after John opened up about errors he has made as a medic. She told john about "nearly killing Jacob" telling him that Jacob had a really bad nut allergy.

John looked thoughtful, so is it a coincidence that the next day Jacob suffers another allergic reaction while he's at the surgery? Viewers are convinced John is linked to the plot and that Jacob could be his next victim.

One viewer commented: "He is definitely a serial killer. Nate so far. Poisoned Chas and I think Jacob next week." Another fan said: "He definitely drugged Chas so he could look like the hero by saving her.

"He will do it to Jacob next week, I saw he has another anaphylactic shock but an empty EpiPen, then John 'saves' him." A further comment read: "Oh really he's a bad un isn't he? Spiking Chas and now targeting Jacob."
