Jesy said: “I feel so excited and proud that we can finally reveal we have been filming our own series for Amazon! We met with the creative director Demi doyle and Producer Gavin Evans at Navybee and letting the cameras in wasn’t an easy decision for us as it’s such a deeply personal time but I knew I wanted to tell my story in my own words.
"We opened the doors fully and I’m really looking forward to letting you all in as I navigate my way to becoming a first time mum to our beautiful baby girls Ocean and Story. I’ll be honest, it’s not been easy as it’s been such a high risk pregnancy, so you’ll see all the highs and lows and rollercoaster of emotions we have been going through. I hope you will all join me on this journey as I really open up and say goodbye to the past and enter this new chapter in my life. I hope you love it as much as we do.”
Prime have said she will "share her truth like never before" and the footage will include "weekly hospital visits and candid conversations" as well as the unwavering support of her loved ones.
But the doc isn't just about motherhood, she will confront her past and on this series she will open up about the life-altering decision to leave Little Mix in 2020, breaking her silence on the relentless pressures of fame, the battle with mental health and the controversies that followed. It will then continue with her new chapter with Zion and the twins.
Jesy and Zion have been living in a London hospital for the last two months and doctors planned to induce the births after 32 weeks. In the end the babies were born after 31 weeks and five days as Jesy explained in her announcement on instagram.
She added: "It all happened so quickly, but we are so blessed that they are here with us, healthy and fighting strong. We've never felt more in love.”
Former star Jesy had emergency surgery in April after the babies developed twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome - a rare condition which could have been fatal for one or both twins. The operation was a success but it meant Jesy and Zion lived in hospital afterwards until the babies were born.
Shortly before their birth Zion told the : "We’re so grateful because Jesy and the twins have come through so much. There were so many times in this pregnancy we didn't think we'd get to where we are now.”
The Prime documentary team were filming with Jesy in the hospital during her pregnancy and there will be emotional scenes and she and Zion speak on camera about how close they came to losing their babies.
It will then capture the joy of them becoming parents, will filming expected to start again in the coming days and weeks to show their first steps as parents with the twins.
Demi Doyle, Creative Director and Executive Producer, for makers Navybee said: “From the moment we met Jesy she has welcomed us into her with so much honesty and heart. Letting the cameras in during such a vulnerable and life-changing time wasn’t an easy decision but she chose to open up in the most brave and beautiful way.
"With her incredible partner Zion by her side, we’ve followed every raw emotion, every high and low, and the deeply personal moments that have shaped this new chapter of her life. This is more than just a journey to motherhood, it’s a powerful, emotional step forward, and a chance for Jesy to finally tell her story. Letting us share this journey is something truly special, and we feel so privileged to be part of.”
Hannah Blyth, Prime Video UK said: “We are delighted to be working with the talented Demi Doyle and the fantastic team at Navybee to bring Jesy Nelson: Life After Little Mix to Prime Video. The series will offer an intimate look at Jesy's journey — a powerful account that’s never been told before - and we are extremely grateful to Jesy for opening up her life to the cameras during such a pivotal and impactful year for her, as she embraces new motherhood and reflects on her experiences beyond the headlines.
"We’re confident that our Prime Video audience will be deeply moved by her honesty and strength as she finds new clarity and speaks her truth in this next chapter of her life.”
In an interview last month before they were born, Zion said living in hospital and preparing to become parents had made him and Jesy closer.
He explained: “We've literally grown to understand each other on a deeper level. And I think we really understand how much we actually care about each other.
“I think it's at these times when you really, really know what love you have and what your relationship means. And I think for me and Jess, this has just taken it to a whole other level of us knowing we are literally made for each other.”
Jesy from Romford, East London, shot to fame on ’s The in 2011 and stayed in Little Mix until 2020. She has been dating Zion, from South London, since November 2022. The couple received thousands of messages of support from the public since they spoke about the twins’ struggles.
Zion previously said Jesy regularly read them whilst pregnant and they were a source of comfort. He explained: “It's really been incredible, the level of support. It's been absolutely incredible. And I think just massive, massive, massive credit to Jesy, because obviously when these kinds of things happen, it's very difficult to actually share that.
“But Jess had the courage to say: ‘You know what? I want to put this story out there. I want to let people in. I want people to know it's not just about sharing the good moments. I want people to know the reality.’ And just to see the response, people’s support, the amount of messages that just flooded in daily.
“Even after the operation, Jess was recovering and we didn't say anything for a while, people were asking: ‘Oh, is everything OK?’ I think it's just been just so touching, and I don't know if the word is ‘motivational’, but it just really keeps us going.
