services have swarmed to a major UK port after a "serious incident" was declared following reports of a 60-year-old man being injured by a fork lift truck. Officers rushed to the scene at the Port of at round 10:15am this morning and have remained on site since.
The emergency forced all operations at the dock to be halted until further notice, according to Peel Ports. confirmed they responded to an incident between a man and a fork lift truck and said: "We can confirm that emergency services are currently at Seaforth Docks following a serious industrial incident earlier this morning, Wednesday 30 April.

"It was reported at around 10.15am that a man aged in his 60s had been involved in an incident with a fork lift truck. Emergency services, including Merseyside Police and North West Ambulance Service, remain at the scene and the Health and Safety Executive has also been notified."

Reporters at the scene have been legally prohibited from entering the dock. A spokesperson for Peel Ports also confirmed the emergency and said: "We can confirm we are dealing with a serious incident at the Port of Liverpool.
"The emergency services are on site and all operations at the location have been suspended until further notice.
"Our priority at this stage is ensuring that the emergency services can assist with the incident, along with managing the safety and welfare of all colleagues. We will provide further updates when we are able to do so." Details of the incident and injuries to the 60-year-old are currently unclear.
This has not been the first serious incident to force emergency crews to rush down to the Port of Liverpool. A man was rushed to hospital after his between two shipping containers at Peel Ports.
The man, who was discovered by rescue teams conscious and breathing, was released using hydraulic equipment and airbags. A spokesperson for Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service said: "The casualty was successfully released and is now in the care of North West Ambulance Service and receiving medical treatment."
