A car fire has closed a major motorway - causing disruption on a busy day of Bank Holiday travel.
The closure affected a stretch of the M4 between J23 at Magor and J23a at Coldra. Long delays have been reported further back on the M4, with drivers urged to avoid the area and find alternative routes. services and traffic officers have been at the scene, according to the 's traffic service. A statement from said: "The M4 is currently closed between J23 and J23a due to a car fire. Diversions are in place which may cause congestion. Please avoid the area if possible and find alternative routes for your journey. Thank you."

A later update from Traffic Wales South at 1.56pm confirmed that the road had reopened. It comes after the AA warned that 20 million drivers were expected across Britain's roads this bank holiday weekend.
Motorists have been advised to make sure they have planned all journeys in advance and are up to date with important traffic updates.
