Nottingham Forest owner storms pitch and fumes at Nuno Espirito Santo after Leicester draw

Nottingham Forest owner was spotted in a furious exchange with as their hopes were dealt another blow.

Forest were held to a 2-2 draw with already-relegated on Sunday. And after the game, Marinakis made a beeline for Nuno on the pitch, with the two embroiled in what looked to be an awkward conversation.

Former boss Nuno looked baffled at the conversation as he attempted to cool the anger of his boss. S pundit offered his take on the scenes and responded: "Get off the pitch."

was also left baffled at the actions of the Forest owner. He said: He said: "What the Forest owner has just done on the pitch over at the City Ground is absolutely scandalous. And if I was Nuno I'd be going and having a very strong word with him."

A number of Forest fans also took to to slam Marinakis for his actions. One said: "Marinakis is embarassing the club with that show. How quickly he forgets where they were last season. Should be applauding those players off the pitch, never mind stepping onto it to rant.

"If I was Nuno, I'd be having very strong words with him, because that's an absolute scandal. They've just qualified for a European competition, from where that club's been, and to remonstrate on that pitch in front of the club's fans is an absolute joke."

Marinakis has taken a brutal approach to hiring and firing managers since his arrival in the East Midlands in 2017. In total, seven men have prowled the touchline as Forest boss under Marinakis' watch.

Meanwhile, he has also had a dramatic season this term. He was issued with a five-match stadium ban by the FA back in October for a misconduct charge.

The Greek businessman was also forced to temporarily suspend his involvement with Forest due to UEFA's multi-club ownership rules, with the East Midlands side potentially set to qualify for the same competition as Marinakis' other club, Olympiacos.

Forest had endured a nightmare start to the game against rivals Leicester after Conor Coady's opener at the City Ground. But they looked on track to return to the Champions League places as goals from Morgan Gibbs-White and Chris Wood - the Kiwi forward celebrating his 20th league goal of the campaign.

Who will qualify for the Champions League?

It wasn't to be fair for Forest though as on-loan playmaker Facundo Buonanotte levelled matters late on with a sensational equaliser. The result leaves Forest sitting seventh in the table and one point off of the top five with two matches of the season remaining.

And while their Champions League hopes were hit with a significant blow, Forest did do enough to at least secure a place in Europe for next season. They take on at the London Stadium in their penultimate game of the season before what looks to be crucial showdown with on the final day of the campaign.

Speaking after the game, midfielder Gibbs-White said: "We put ourselves in the best situation possible. But these last three or four games, it's not been to our standard. Yes, we played good with the ball today but we can't concede two goals like that today, we can't.

"Especially with our form throughout the season and how we've been so good at taking the lead and seeing it out. It's just frustrating, frustrating."
