Who plays Aidan Moore in Emmerdale? Actor mystery sparks confusion after credits 'clue'

Aidan Moore in took centre stage again this week after waking from his coma.

John Sugden was horrified his secrets would come to light after finding out his ex, who has been in a coma for a few years ever since an incident in the army, had regained consciousness. Not only that, but his reaction to seeing John massively hinted he might know what happened.

It had been said Aidan would never wake up and might be brain damaged. He has now woken up, while he's non-verbal and isn't always responsive.

That said, he appears to know who his mother Cathleen is, and he was seen panicked at the sight of John when he was by his bedside. John asked Cathleen if the doctors knew whether he would remember anything from before his coma, and if he knew who they were.

Cathleen was hopeful and trying to encourage Aidan to remember John, while the villain was clearly worrying about what Aidan might know. Of course we still don't know what really happened to Aidan in .

That said, it's been heavily hinted John had more to do with the incident that left Aidan in a coma than has been claimed. It seems to be the case that John caused whatever happened to him, leaving him in his coma.

But amid this all rumbling on there's an even bigger mystery about Aidan. It's still not been announced by the show or online who is playing the character.

In fact Aidan has been on the soap numerous times now for weeks, and yet he has not appeared in the end credits list once. Aidan and the actor's name is not there, and Cathleen's surname is never mentioned either.

Aidan's surname has been revealed as Moore, so why is Cathleen only listed by her first name in the credits? Why has the soap chosen not to reveal anything about the actor playing John's ex?

While some fans are wondering if it confirms a bigger twist is coming, linked to the surname or even the role of Aidan, others were just completely confused about the big mystery.

Taking to social media, one fan said: "Does anyone else find it super that Aidan has appeared numerous times now and still isn't credited? This was backed by other viewers, while another comment questioned: "Intrigued why he isn't in the credits yet and why Cathleen doesn't have a surname given Aidan's is meant to be Moore??"

It comes as Aidan could risk John's wedding to Aaron Dingle in upcoming scenes, and that's not all. John will be left fearing the murder of Nate Robinson will also come to light, months on from him killing Cain Dingle's son and then disposing of the body in the lake.

With the lake needing to be dredged after recent events, John will be panicked the truth will come to light. So with an update also on the cards for Aidan, will he make it down the aisle?
