Pakistan attacks 26 locations; India responds with precision strikes

Amid the escalating conflict between two nuclear-armed neighbours, the Indian Army on Saturday stated that Pakistan has attempted air intrusions at over 26 locations, stretching from Srinagar in the north to Naliya in the west. All these attempts were successfully neutralised, the Army said.

In a "measured yet firm response", India said it targeted Pakistani military installations at six locations — Rafiki, Murid, Chaklala, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, and Juniya — using air-launched precision weapons from its fighter aircraft. Radar sites at two of these locations were specifically hit with precision munitions.

The Indian Army also said Pakistan has begun moving troops into forward areas, which is being seen as an indication of offensive intent and a possible escalation of hostilities.

“Our armed forces remain in a high state of operational readiness,” said Wing Commander Vyomika Singh during a joint media briefing held alongside Colonel Sofiya Qureshi of the Indian Army and foreign secretary Vikram Misri.

“Actions have been effectively countered and responded to appropriately,” Wing Commander Singh stated. “Indian armed forces reiterate their commitment to non-escalation, provided it is reciprocated by the Pakistan military.”

Colonel Qureshi added that Pakistan had also targeted civilian infrastructure, attacking healthcare centers and school premises within the vicinity of airbases at Srinagar, Avantipur, and Udhampur, “yet again, displaying irresponsible targeting of civilian infrastructure”.

Indian Army officials strongly rejected Pakistan’s claims of having destroyed key Indian military installations.

“There has been a malicious misinformation campaign, claiming the destruction of Indian S-400 systems at Adampur, destruction of Airfields at Suratgarh and Sirsa, BrahMos base at Nagrota, RT gun positions at Dehrangyari and Chandigarh Forward Ammunition Depot, along with heavy damages to other military stations being propagated on social media India, unequivocally rejects these false narratives being spread by Pakistan,” Wing Commander Singh said.

To refute these allegations, Indian officials presented photographic evidence showing no damage at the Sirsa and Suratgarh airbases.

Foreign secretary Vikram Misri echoed the stance, dismissing assertions made by Pakistani state agencies as “completely baseless and fabricated”.
