There are many such mysteries here, about which research is still going on.
Many people are eager to know about these mysteries. Just like space, many are curious to know about the astronauts living here. Many people want to know how astronauts live in space stations or spaceships. In such a situation, today in this article we will tell you what astronauts who go to space eat and what are the foods that are banned to be taken to space.
Earlier astronauts used to eat food like thisInitially, astronauts used to eat food with the help of cubes and tubes, but now with the changing times and the help of advanced technology, astronauts enjoy a variety of delicious dishes. The rehydrated foods to eat in space include soups like chicken consomme, casseroles like macaroni and cheese, shrimp cocktail appetizers and scrambled eggs and cereals, etc.
Astronauts also eat these foodsApart from these foods, astronauts also consume superfoods like microalgae, lab grown meat and wine pills, which ensures that their diet is both nutritious and delicious. However, apart from these foods, there are some foods which are prohibited to eat in space. Let's know about these foods-
BreadBread is a part of many people's daily meal, but do you know that carrying it into space is banned? Actually, this is because its small particles can enter the body through the eyes or breath.
Salt and pepperSalt and pepper , which enhance the taste of food, are also prohibited from being taken into space. In fact, its small particles can be dangerous in space. Therefore, instead of taking them dry, they are taken in liquid form i.e. mixed in water or oil.
Carbonated drinksNext on the list is carbonated drinks. These are banned during space missions because without gravity, carbonated drinks do not bubble and hence the gas mixes with the drink. When consumed, these cause digestive problems known as 'wet burp'.
AlcoholAlcohol is also prohibited for astronauts going into space. This is because alcoholic beverages can impair cognitive function, seriously affect coordination, and above all, alcohol can affect the metabolism of medications, posing health risks to astronauts.
Fresh fruits and vegetablesPerishable foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables and dairy products are also banned in space. This is because they have a short shelf life and require refrigeration, which is extremely limited in space.
