RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has revealed the name of his grandson—the newborn son of Tejashwi Yadav and Rajshri Yadav—in a heartfelt social media post on May 28. The couple has named their son “Iraj Lalu Yadav,” a name chosen by Lalu and Rabri Devi, with a deep spiritual significance.
🕉️ Why the Name ‘Iraj’?“So our granddaughter Katyayani’s little brother is named Iraj by me and Rabri Devi,” Lalu wrote. “Tejashwi and Rajshri have given him the full name Iraj Lalu Yadav.”

The baby was born on a Tuesday, considered an auspicious day dedicated to Lord Hanuman, and the name Iraj is associated with Hanumanji’s divine qualities.

Lalu explained that just as granddaughter Katyayani was named after being born on Katyayani Ashtami during Navratri, this new arrival’s name reflects the spiritual significance of the day he was born.
On May 27, Tejashwi Yadav took to social media to share his joy:
“The wait is finally over! So grateful, blessed and pleased to announce the arrival of our little boy. Jai Hanuman!”
His brother Tej Pratap Yadav also expressed happiness, calling the newborn “Banke Bihari ji’s blessing,” and said he was proud to become a ‘bade papa’ (elder uncle).
📸 A Proud Moment for the Yadav FamilyLalu also shared a photo with his grandson and the family, thanking supporters and well-wishers for their blessings. He mentioned that both mother and baby are healthy, and the entire family is overjoyed by the arrival of the little one.
