Meghan Markle is reportedly shifting her focus from mending ties with former friends to building connections with influential figures, including U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, as the 2024 elections approach. Rather than trying to repair her relationship with the Beckhams, Meghan appears eager to forge alliances in the political realm.
Ahead of the November elections, insiders say Meghan is interested in aligning with Harris, who is seen as a potential candidate for the presidency. Meghan and Prince Harry were once close to David and Victoria Beckham, but their friendship deteriorated after allegations that Victoria leaked stories about them to the media. Since then, David Beckham has publicly supported the Royal Family, including King Charles and Prince William.
While Harry seems keen to reconcile with the Beckhams to reconnect with his estranged family, Meghan reportedly has little interest in reviving that friendship. Sources close to Meghan indicate that she feels engaging with the Beckhams is beneath her, choosing instead to focus on more influential political connections.
Reports suggest Meghan is keen to endorse Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential election. She has previously expressed support for Harris, particularly when Joe Biden selected her as his running mate in 2020.
Meghan's political aspirations are gaining attention. Royal reporter Kinsey Schofield mentioned that a recent Newsweek poll indicated 40% of respondents believed an endorsement from Meghan and Harry could sway their votes. Schofield noted that Meghan sees this election as an opportunity to further her political ambitions, especially as President Biden is expected to step down.
"This election could be historic, and Meghan wants to be included. We saw her engage with Kamala Harris during voter campaigns in 2020, and this could be a significant way for her to make an impact," Schofield said.As of now, Harry and Meghan have not officially endorsed Kamala Harris.
