GB News had a huge shake-up on Friday as the breakfast show aired. Normally Ellie Costello and Stephen Dixon are at the helm of the programme as viewers tune in to start the day but today saw Chris Hope and Dawn Neesom taking up their spots instead.
A while into the show, Dawn addressed the "missing" presenters and provided an update on their whereabouts - explaining that they were both absent for a very personal reason. Chris pointed out: "I'm not Stephen," and gesturing to Dawn he added: "You're not Ellie." Dawn agreed as she shared: "Yeah, because Ellie is off getting married this weekend. She is getting married tomorrow in the South of France and of course Stephen has gone with her, to hold her hand, in their matching outfits." The presenter then quipped: "Stephen is possibly in a white dress, who knows?"
The stand-in presenter then explained that it was Ellie's "official, big wedding" after her co-star got "legally married" back in April. Dawn shared: "It's her big wedding tomorrow and she is going to make a beautiful bride!"
Chris then shared a little more personal information about the presenters as he said: "It's a special day for Dawn tomorrow too, it's her wedding anniversary."
They then shared a throwback snap of Dawn on her wedding day as she quipped: "OK, if they keep showing that picture then I'm not going to make it to my wedding anniversary, as my husband hates it so much!"
She went on to explain that the picture, which showed Dawn in a beautiful gown, was from 39 years ago. Chris then shared a snap from his own special day as he added that he got married on the same day as Princess Diana's funeral.
Meanwhile, Ellie, 31, originally tied the knot with her fiance Gerard Durkan in an intimate London ceremony back in April. Her co-stars weren't at Chelsea Old Town Hall, with invites being reserved for close friends and family.
At the time, her colleague Eamonn Holmes commented: "Notice she wore a short dress, I'd have never thought of that. But then she's going to do it all again in the summer and it'll be a big affair and a big party in the sunshine. It's excellent news."
