Hannah Waddingham makes surprise Eurovision admission ahead of Grand Final

Hannah Waddingham has made a surprising admission about Eurovision just hours before the Grand Final is set to take place. The actress, 50, was one of the main hosts of the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest, which was held in Liverpool on behalf of .

She co-hosted the Semi-Finals and Grand Final alongside Alesha Dixon and Julia Sanina. This year Swiss-German comedian, poet and presenter Hazel Brugger and Swiss TV presenter and singer Sandra Struder have taken on hosting duties.

Meanwhile in Britain, the show coverage has been hosted by Rylan Clark and Scott Mills as the pair offer their commentary.

Ahead of the contest's finale, which is set to take place on Saturday (May 17) night, Hannah appeared on The One Show to promote her upcoming film project, Mission Impossible, alongside co-star Simon Pegg.

Minutes before diving into the interview, hosts Roman Kemp and Alex Jones couldn't help but quiz the star on the singing competition. Hannah went on to share her desire to host the show again if UK entry, Remember Monday wins the competition.

Roman started off by saying: "Hannah we were talking about Eurovision just then and of course you hosted in 2023. Are you excited?"

Hannah admitted: "I've got aggressive FOMO." She continued: "I told the girls, by the way, to shout out Remember Monday. They are three west end girls and their vocals and hormones are just epic."

In a surprising moment, she confessed: "Honestly if they could bring it home I would love to host it next year." Alex replied: "It's quite possible."

Co-star Roman was onboard with the idea as he added: "I mean why not."

Elsewhere in the show, attention soon moved to Hannah's upcoming role in Mission Impossible. The actress, who plays the role of Admiral Neely in the movie, couldn't help but gush over her co-star Simon Pegg, who has reprised his role as field agent and Ethan Hunt's (Tom Cruise) close friend, Benji Dunn for the franchise's final instalment.

Pointing to Simon, Hannah shared her appreciation to Simon for his hard work as she said: "Can I just say something about this man because he will never say it himself. He is so much of this film, every time he does anything the audience goes nuts and honestly I think that he is one of the most underrated acts that we have."

She added: "There is all the action of it all, the Tom of it all but this man brings so much heart and comedy at the same time and I just think he is so underrated as a dramatic actor."

Simon was touched by the message as he leaned in and gave Hannah a hug.
