M1: Traffic chaos after smash on major motorway - 'expect delays'

The M1 was closed after a smash on the major motorway. Motorists were told to 'expect delays' after the closure of the northbound carriageway between Junction 44 and Junction 45, near Leeds.

The lanes going north and south were closed with National Highways telling drivers to take alternative routes or allow for extra time.
