Queen Camilla stuns in royal blue and pays tribute to Australia with brooch as tour begins

and are due to spend a few days carrying out several engagements in the country before travelling to Samoa next week for the second half of their tour.

Despite the downpours on their arrival, Camilla stunned in a royal blue silk crepe dress by Fiona Clare, along with the Australian wattle brooch. This piece of jewellery was previously gifted by the Australian people to the late .

As the couple made their way down the slippery airplane's steps, the 75-year-old monarch clutched an umbrella - and was seen sweetly looking behind to check that his wife was ok as she followed tentatively behind.

After being reassured that his wife was fine, the King was seen walking on to greet the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia Sam Mostyn and her husband, Simeon Beckett.

Along with a stunning three-minute video, the royal pair issued a poignant message on social media. The caption read: "Ahead of our first visit to Australia as King and Queen, we are really looking forward to returning to this beautiful country to celebrate the extraordinarily rich cultures and communities that make it so special. The post was then signed off by the King and Queen themselves as "Charles R & Camilla R".

The tour marks the first visit from its head of state since 2011. During this latest visit, the Firm will be looking to exhibit a king who is in touch with Australia and its needs.

As pictures of the stunning display were released, the sails could be seen showcasing a four-minute montage of images from previous royal visits.

The impressive display was scheduled to start at 8pm on Friday, however it was delayed by several minutes.
