Rugby star missing as wife issues worrying plea in search for father of three

Police and concerned family members are frantically searching for Batley Bulldogs ace Brandon Moore, who disappeared on Friday. Moore has been missing since yesterday, prompting alarm amongst his family and friends. Originally hailing from Cumbria, the 28-year-old rugby league star resides in Castleford with his wife Mara and their three children.

In a distressing plea on social media, Mara Moore asks for assistance in locating her husband, stating on Facebook: "If anyone has seen Brandon Moore can you please message me?

"I usually wouldn't ever post anything on here like this, but family and friends haven't seen or heard of him and hoping maybe someone's seen sightings of him and can message me?

"I have a 7 week old baby at home and 2 others so I can't go hunting myself other than a car ride. Police contacted. Been missing approx 14 hours now. Thank you.

The urgent post has already been shared over 2,400 times and garnered 55 comments. Moore, a key player for the Bulldogs, was set to feature in Batley's squad against Toulouse Olympique on Saturday but failed to attend the match, which concluded in a 30-14 defeat for his team.

After an eight-year spell with Halifax Panthers where he led them to victory in the 1895 Cup final in 2023, Moore joined Batley last year. He had previously expressed his deep ties to Halifax, saying to Yorkshire Live: "Along the years I've met some top blokes who've made my time at the club and I've made some special bonds that are life long.

"Even though I'm not a Halifax lad, I always knew how much rugby league meant to the town and it was always an honour to captain the side."
