evoked laughter this week after comparing the adrenaline of playing at to the feelings kindled by being arrested. The world No. 1 was arrested last May during the PGA Championship at the Valhalla Golf Club in Kentucky.
When Scheffler arrived at Valhalla ahead of the second day of action, Louisville police officers were outside investigating a pedestrian fatality. The golfer allegedly failed to follow instructions from a detective and sped away in his SUV, which dragged the detective on the ground. The 28-year-old was charged with second degree assault of a police officer, third degree criminal mischief, reckless driving, and ignoring signals from an officer directing traffic. by a county prosecutor two weeks later.
Scheffler was paired with Shane Lowry for the final round at the Masters on Sunday as he started the day seven strokes adrift of leader .
The duo followed the pairing of Justin Rose and Zach Johnson, with Rose eventually going on to challenge McIlroy in a play-off after Scheffler had fallen out of contention.
And Scheffler spoke about the feelings he felt during the business end of the tournament as he addressed reporters this week. He also explained the moment he knew he was no longer in the running to land the Green Jacket.

"Well it was an exhausting week," he began. "It takes a lot out of you, to win a golf tournament, emotionally.
"On Sunday, yeah, I was [still] in the tournament. It takes a little bit out of you, but I think the adrenaline you get from actually winning the tournament is a lot different than getting close.
"I'm sitting there on the 18th fairway last week and Rosey's [shot] was at 10 under and I'm thinking to myself, 'Well okay, I'm going at this pin, I'm going to try and hole this.' Then he makes it and you're like, 'Okay, well the tournament's over, I lost.'
"And you're kind of sitting there, didn't win, lost, whatever. And I was looking at [caddie] Teddy [Scott], and I'm like, 'Alright Teddy, well I guess I'm going to aim at the middle of the green now.' He was like, 'Yeah, aim at the middle of the green. Let's get out of here.' [That] kind of thing."
Scheffler then had the reporters in stitches as he added: "For instance if Rosey missed that putt and I holed it, huge adrenaline rush and it takes something out of you.
"Kind of like the adrenaline rush you get from getting arrested. Like, that takes something out of you."
