star is keeping things formal with dance partner Wynne Evans, claims a body language expert.
On Saturday night (October 12), a video began circulating of the duo, showing Wynne with his arm around Katya's waist. It appeared the 35-year-old moved her partner's hand off her midriff and onto her hip.
Meanwhile, earlier in the evening, it looked as though Katya rejected a high-five from her partner. After the clips went viral, on It Takes Two, insisting it was simply an inside joke between the pair.
Katya and Wynne looked in high spirits as they left rehearsals on Monday, smiling and laughing as they said goodbye to each other.
The pair were seen as Wynne planted a kiss on the cheek of his partner.
Body language expert Judi James suggested their public display of affection was to illustrate the close friendship they "claim" to enjoy.
She said: "Following on from 'Hand-gate' and 'Hi 5-gate' and the ensuing furore, followed by some curious videos and sofa-based denials, this pair seem to have decided to go back to basics and uses the genre they (or at least Katya) excels in, which is the language of dance-based behaviours to make their point in front of the waiting cameras."
Judi continued: "Their farewell embrace shows them hugging and Wynne cheek-kissing to suggest or to illustrate the kind of close friendship the pair claim to enjoy.
"Wynne's arm goes around Katya's neck while her hand lands on his back and she proffers her cheek for him to plant his kiss."
She added: "Her body language looks relatively formal here, with her fingertips on his bicep or raised in the air with the fingers straight but the hug looks fond enough and reciprocal here."
BBC reportedly held "crisis talks" with Katya and Wynne after the incident, with the dancing duo confirming once again that the incident was nothing more than a "silly joke".
A BBC insider told The Mirror: "Wynne and Katya have confirmed that their interactions in the Clauditorium were silly jokes they had planned together and have apologised to anyone who may have misinterpreted them.
"They addressed them on Wynne's Instagram, where their apology can be found. Katya would like to clarify further that she was not offended by Wynne and was not made to feel uncomfortable in the least - she has also clarified on her Instagram."
They added: "The welfare and production teams have checked in on the pair and there are no further actions planned."
