The Chase fans were left up in arms after one player opted to play for the low offer just minutes into the ITV game show. During Monday's visit (October 13) to the studio, host Bradley Walsh welcomed four new hopefuls onto the teatime show. He introduced Sarah, Grant, JoJo, and William to viewers tuning in at home before they put their general knowledge to the test.
This week, the quartet went up against Paul 'The Sinnerman' Sinha, who certainly brought his A-game. First up to the podium was William who wowed fans with his impressive score of £6,000 in the cash-builder round. Thankfully, he wasn't phased by the pro quizzer in the head-to-head round as he banked his winnings and secured his place in the final. Hoping to follow in his footsteps was student JoJo, who earned just £2,000 in the cash-builder round.
As she prepared to take on the comic in the head-to-head round, she turned back to her team where she asked them which amount she should play for: £1, £2,000, or £30,000. It was at this point that her teammate Sarah reassured her that there "isn't much difference between the pound and the £2,000 offer".
This comment sparked backlash from viewers at home, who swarmed to social media to share their outrage online, with one penning: "Not much of a difference between one and 2000, what school did she go to?!" Another agreed: "Not much difference between £1 and £2,000. Not sure I'd pay £2,000 for 2 pints of milk."
A third fumed: "And there we go with the £1 low offer. Speechless. No point of me getting angry anymore. I have completely given up at this point..." as a fourth stated: "If they win, I wonder what she'll spend the pound on? A couple of stops on the bus home?"
Ulitmately, the student took the low offer and managed to secure her position in the final round. The third player to take on The Chaser was Grant, who blew viewers away with his impressive £7,000 cash-builder. But unfortunately, he buckled under the pressure in the head-to-head round, where he was sent packing after making two silly mistakes.

The final player to take on the comedian was Sarah, who also impressed viewers with her £7,000 cash-builder round. And Paul only wowed fans further when he shared her previous game show experience on Mastermind, where she made it all the way through to the final before being booted to the curb.
Sarah decided to take the middle offer and play for her winnings, which she successfully achieved, bringing their total up to £13,001 and a seat in the final chase. Paul gushed: "She's someone who can answer questions at speed, so they're definitely in the running to win.
In the final round, the team successfully answered 20 questions in two minutes with gameshow sleuth Sarah doing a lot of the heavy lifting. But unfortunately, it wasn't enough to beat the Chaser after he successfully caught the team with just one second remaining.
The Chase airs on weekdays from 5pm on ITV1 or catch up on ITVX.
