A Homebase shopper humorously threatened to pen a "written complaint" after spotting what she dubbed a "" at one of the retailer's locations.
TV and radio personality Lauren Layfield took to social media with a video capturing the mischievous spirit in action, joking that it was enjoying "a very happy Halloween".
The side-splitting clip on showcases an array of spooky decorations set up for the festivities.
Amongst the eerie ensemble of a witch and Frankenstein's monster, there's a Grim Reaper-esque spectre engaged in a suggestive back-and-forth hip thrusting motion, concealed behind a tombstone emblazoned with "trick or treat". The video then cuts to Lauren's look of mock horror.
It seems this cheeky apparition has been causing quite a stir, with other users on X claiming to have encountered the naughty phantom in various stores.
One commented: "I saw him in the Oxford branch the other week, the filthy beggar!" While another shared: "I took a similar video the other day. There was a group of people all saying the same thing."
Some couldn't resist cracking jokes about the cat decoration positioned next to the cauldron at the beginning of the footage, suggesting it would be traumatised from facing the risque ghost head-on. A user quipped: "That poor cat will never unsee." Another chimed in with a laugh: "That's my Halloween sorted."
The item in question, a £48 6ft "Shivering Ghost", can be found both in-store and online at Homebase. Touted as "durable, waterproof", the product description invites customers to "unleash the spookiness with our 6ft Shivering Ghost, the ultimate addition to your Halloween inflatable collection".
