Since Succession has ended, actor Jeremy Strong has gone on to play completely different parts in his next projects. He won a Tony Award for his Broadway play, An Enemy of the People, and for his upcoming film, The Apprentice, Strong plays young Donald Trump's lawyer Roy Cohn. Fans of the HBO series will disappointed to learn that the actor isn't keen to return to play Kendall Roy. Strong shared how the character messed up him emotionally.
Jeremy Strong on Succession's Kendall RoyIn an interview with The Sunday Times, Strong shared that he has firmly closed the door on playing Kendall Roy. He played the heir apparent to Logan Roy (Brian Cox) in the series for four seasons from 2018 to 2023. The actor stated, "It f*** me up. The material a banquet. So I miss that. But Kendall’s struggle was difficult to carry for seven years. And there’s just so much more I want to do.”Strong did say that the series was “an incalculable gift," but he would not come back for any spinoff series. He added, “It’s not something I have any wish to do any longer. I’m aware it is one of the main chapters of my life, but I don’t miss it." It followed the dysfunctional Roy family as they fought amongst themselves for the right to head the global media company Waystar RoyCo, found by Longa. Strong won an Emmy in 2020 for playing Kendall. The star-studded cast also included Hiam Abbass, Nicholas Braun, Kieran Culkin, Peter Friedman, Natalie Gold, Matthew Macfadyen, Alan Ruck, and Sarah Snook.
