Maruti Suzuki Brezza Rivaling Skoda Kylaq's Safety Features Confirmed; Check Details

Skoda Auto India wants to claim a piece of the pie in the compact SUV segment. To achieve this goal, the automaker is preparing to launch a new model in the segment called Kylaq. Based on the MQB A0 In platform, the SUV will help the brand re-enter a segment that has been gaining a lot of attention from Indian consumers. It is to be noted that the platform has been previously used to underpin the Kushaq and Slavia. It has been developed by the brand for the Indian market.Scheduled to launch on November 5, the Skoda Kylaq will be entering a market full of tough competition from some of the rivals that have already established themselves among consumers. The list includes some of the best-selling models in their segment like Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra SUV 3XO, Hyundai Venue, and Kia Sonet.Also Read: To make sure that the Skoda Kylaq stands its ground against rivals, the brand has loaded the SUV with tons of features. For instance, it will be equipped with a six-way adjustable driver and ventilation function for both passenger and driver seats.Similarly to ensure occupants' safety, the Kylaq will have features like six airbags, anti-lock brakes, traction control, stability control, brake disc wiping, roll over protection, electronic differential lock, motor slip regulations, passenger airbag de-activation, multi-collision braking, and ISOFIX seats among other things.Powering the Skoda Kylaq will be a 1.0-litre TSI engine which is tuned to produce 114 bhp of power and 178 Nm of peak torque. This power unit can be paired with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.The Czech brand is yet to reveal the design of the Skoda Kylaq. However, the brand has revealed camouflage-covered images of the SUV. From these pictures, we can figure out, that the SUV will come with a split headlamp setup. The front fascia will also consist of slim LED DRLs complemented by a butterfly grille following the brand's design language.
