Mohammed Shami’s injury has become the most debated topic in recent times. The Indian pacer hasn’t played a single competitive match since the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup final. India were completely decimated in the first Test as New Zealand bowlers bowled them out for a paltry 46 runs. This is India’s lowest Test total on home soil so far. However, Amid all the disappointment, Rohit Sharma’s side got a major boost as Mohammed Shami was spotted at the M.Chinnaswamay Stadium. As per a RevSportz report, The 34-year-old bowled in full throttle in the nets after the conclusion of the second day in Bengaluru. Shami wasn’t included in the squad for the New Zealand series but should he prove his match fitness he will be in contention for the Australia later which is scheduled to take place next month. Shami has been undergoing a rehabilitation process and has been building his intensity and speed. As per the report, Shami had his knee strapped and bandaged and gradually started to find his rhythm after starting with a short run up. Troy Cooley, National Cricket Academy bowling coach and Nitin Patel, Head of Sports Science and Medicine were present at the occasion to supervise the practice drill. Earlier Rohit Sharma confirmed that the pacer suffered a setback in his recovery. As quoted by ESPN Cricinfo the Indian captain said, "Right now, it is pretty difficult for us to make a call on whether he will be fit for this series or the Australia series. "He recently had a setback - he had a swelling on his knee, which was quite unusual. "He was in the process of getting fit - getting close to 100% - and he had a swelling in his knee. That put him back a little bit in his recovery, so he had to start again fresh."
